Effective 20 February 2025, AirAsia flights departing from and arriving at Xi’an Xianyang International Airport (XIY) will be operated from Terminal 5 (formerly operating out of Terminal 3). Aside from the terminal change, there are nomor changes to the flight schedule and all affected guests have been informed of any terminal change.

AirAsia will commence operations at Terminal 5, Xi’an Xianyang International Airport (XIY), on 20 February 2025 at 05:00 AM.
- How will I receive knowledge on the terminal movement?
All guests are notified via e-mail and push notifications via the AirAsia MOVE app. Guests that have booked via travel agents are advised to contact the respective travel agents. We will post the knowledge about our terminal change on our web and social sarana pages. It is also available in our support page under Airports and Terminals information.
- What is the distance between Terminal 3 and Terminal 5, and how long does it take to commute between the two terminals? in terms of distance and time?
The distance between the terminals is approximately 2.5 kilometers, estimated to take around 10 to 15 minutes by car.
- How can guests travel from Terminal 3 to Terminal 5?
Guests can choose from several transportation options, including the subway, taxi, and shuttle bus, to commute from Terminal 3 to Terminal 5.
- Where will AirAsia’s check-in and baggage drop counters be located in Terminal 5?
The designated counters for check-in and baggage drop-off are located at G03-G12 and H03-H10. Guests may proceed directly to the international departure gate after completing the check-in process. Kindly be informed that self-check-in kiosks are not available at the new terminal 5.
- Where should I go in the new terminal if I have special needs (e.g., wheelchair assistance)?
Guests can approach Airport Help desk which is located at Island F on the departure floor for any wheelchair assistance and other queries related to AirAsia.
- I have already arrived at Terminal 3. Where can I seek assistance regarding AirAsia’s move to Terminal 5?
XIY Airport staff (ground handlers) will be available to guide guests and provide directions to Terminal 5.
- Any changes to the airport tax/passenger service fee?
There are nomor changes to the airport tax/passenger service fee.
- Will the terminal change affect all AirAsia flights?
No, the terminal change will not affect any AirAsia flights. All flights from 20 February 2025 will operate as scheduled.
